Jango has two different kinds of stations: genre stations , that you can select from the Browse Music area below the player, and artist-based stations , which are created when you search for and select an artist. Genre stations have playlists that are selected by our knowledgeable team of music aficionados. These are best if you want your playlist to stick to a certain genre or theme.
Many of these stations are updated on a weekly basis so they are also the best option if you want to hear the most recent titles.
Artist-based stations , on the other hand, have playlists that are selected from a list of similar artists and from what other listeners have liked or banned. It is therefore common to hear, for example, Christmas music in August if you are listening to Bing Crosby Radio, or songs on the station of an artist that only plays instrumental music. A new station is created for you every time you search for and select an artist in the New Station box at the top of the page.
You can also create a station by selecting any of our genre stations from the Browse Stations section or any of the suggested stations in the Similar Stations tab. Like any form of radio, we have an ever-expanding library of songs — and continue to add new music all the time. If you can't find an artist or song you want, send a request to feedback jango. The DMCA also constrains the number of times we can play the same artist or the same song within a given time period as well as the number of songs from the same album, etc. However, we can let you rate songs to teach your station what to play more often. Rating helps Jango create a better playlist just for you. Giving a song a thumbs up will make it play more often while giving it a thumbs down will ban it from any of your stations.
You can rate songs as you listen to them on your station. The songs you have rated will be stored in your Favorite Songs and Banned Songs lists, accessible from the profile menu. Keep in mind that there is a limit to the number of songs you can like or ban.
Rating songs by the featured emerging artists will not make them play more often or ban them. Those ratings are instead used as feedback for the artists.
